Third place in CL with superior goals

Firstly, I might be wrong but I thought I'd go through to the group stage.

My team and another is tied on 10 points each, I've scored 17 and conceded 12, the other team scored 10 and conceded 7. I'm now in the Super League.

What were the results between you and the other team? If you lost over the two legs (away goals included) the other team will finish above you regardless of goal difference.

Positions on the final table in group stage of CL and SL are done on head-to-head performance, not goal difference...

Cause he won the 1vs1 against you. And if 3 teams are drawn at points is the same... discount the matches vs the team out of the draw and re-calculate only using the matches vs the involved teams to determine the positions, as in the real CL.
