"The 3-5-2 flat focuses on the midfield area and trys to dominate the midfield area while giving support to the 2 strikers, to have a good chance of overcoming 3-5-2 you need to use formations that can battle with 3-5-2, The 3-2-2-2-1 butterfly is a formation that can work well vs 3-5-2 as can the 'WM' formation which is 3W-2N-2N-2W-1 which looks like a 'WM'"
According to JF.
I don't really see you winning with 1 DC against 2 scout level strikers though. Better use 3(N)-1-2-3(W)-1.
Attacking mentality, press whole pitch, mixed passes, down both flanks, no counter. Use of offside trap- recommended. Your goal will be to outscore him. Some time in the game you can also try long passes in an attempt to by-pass his strong midfield and get balls directly to your wingers who are faster than his wing-backs.
I know it's a weird formation and risky too. But it accomodates your strongest players, takes into consideration the fact that he doesn't have a DMC, his use of wing-backs and the fact that aforementioned wing-backs are weaker and slower than your wingers. One of this MC's surely has a red arrow, hence the DMC in your team. And your 3 DC's should be able to take care of his ST's.
Warning- if at least one of hi strikers is a lot quicker than your DC's, DO NOT use the offside trap!
