    4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond again

I struggle to score against 4-1-2-1-2ND with 4-5-1V.
My team is about 8 points stronger. Out out of 5 games I never won. Did manage a few draws though.
I tried defensive and counter with long passes / whole pitch with short, without counter / or switched my AMR/AML to MR/ML. All of which to no avail.
Possession is about the same, shots on goal too. Every game seems kinda balanced with a slight favour to him.

    3N-5-2V was an absolute desaster.
4-1-3W-2 looked a bit better in possession but I played it like 15 minutes of a single game so I don't have statistics on that formation.

Try 3N-1-4-2 Defensive counter down both sides, don't expect to thrash your opponent with just 8 point advantage though. I would predict 3-0 or 3-1 final score.

I did that slightly modified as 3N-5-1V but couldn't withstand any of his attacks so I kept playing with 4 defenders and 1 defensive midfielder. I will give it a try though.
3-1 or even 3-0 would be amazing so far.

Not for some time now. I did a few friendly matches. Another one has to wait until tommorrow because I got some important matches coming up. How does the time matter btw?

I ran into an almost exact same situation as you did. I ran into a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond and i used what I read was supposed to be a counter formation of the 4-5-1v. I ran with normal, down both flanks, own half, mixed, and zonal and lost pretty bad. 3-2 was the final score, but my two goals came late, so it wasn't as close of a game as it looked. My quality was 3 points better than his side also.

What was your result? Did you change formations?

I really don't think there are sure wins. Once I played against an opponent who had a rating of 14 where I had a rating of 32. He had an illegal formation (like GK on the field and vice versa). I won 11:0 the first match and lost the return 0:1.

FYI that opponent I posted earlier was about 8 points weaker than me but I only played two matches with that formation so far. I like to see a few more to believe this tactics will grant a win ratio of 80-90% or so.
