OK, nice. What I can say from this is 5 of his players perform better than yours. That alone is generally enough to decide the winner when the match gets this tight.

But you did lead the possession bonus... by 8%, which means your formation wasn't bad against his, considering you were even away. You also was simply unlucky, because you had more shots on target than him, more corners, and yet, only got one goal.

I really think if your players didn't perform poorer than his, you would have won it, quite easily. The question is thus why are your players performing poorly ? : ) Because, 4 players at 6, and the rest at 7, with no 8s, or 9s, will often be fatal.

Usually, performance decrease if Win bonus isn't high enough, or if players are not at least at 80%+ Morale and Condition at the start of the match, or if you don't respect their position on the pitch, or if they simply had nothing to do... (like your GK not having to catch any ball, because your defense is so good).

If all of that is respected and their performance is still low, then they are just bad... and you should probably replace them, : (
