OK, nice. What I can say from this is 5 of his players perform better than yours. That alone is generally enough to decide the winner when the match gets this tight.

But you did lead the possession bonus... by 8%, which means your formation wasn't bad against his, considering you were even away. You also was simply unlucky, because you had more shots on target than him, more corners, and yet, only got one goal.

I really think if your players didn't perform poorer than his, you would have won it, quite easily. The question is thus why are your players performing poorly ? : ) Because, 4 players at 6, and the rest at 7, with no 8s, or 9s, will often be fatal.

Usually, performance decrease if Win bonus isn't high enough, or if players are not at least at 80%+ Morale and Condition at the start of the match, or if you don't respect their position on the pitch, or if they simply had nothing to do... (like your GK not having to catch any ball, because your defense is so good).

If all of that is respected and their performance is still low, then they are just bad... and you should probably replace them, : (

Hum that blue arrow on DMC should have been, red. I did specify it. It would have helped your pressing, and you wouldn't have lost any defense neither in the process (at least not against his formation).

Not saying you lost because of this, but it sure didn't help.

I really don't think the problem is coming from the formation, because 4-1-4-1, does cover everything, without having too many players in the back. A Red arrow on the DMC, will help though.

I can't properly advice without knowing more, : (

In the worse case scenario, if no formation seems to work, either take your best players and build a formation around it, or simply play the same formation as him... 4-1-3W-2 (if your team is better); then monitor your orders in the live game.
Start with something standard, like Normal mentality, mixed passes, hard tackles (if you're behind on the possession), no trap, no counter.

Then change it accordingly. If you're not having enough shots, try switching to attacking mentality and see what happens, or putting red arrows on ML/MR, and trying flanks passes for a while, that sort of things.

When nothing seems to work, you really need to be active in the game, and be ready to change things following the logic of the game.

thank you very much now i understand ... let's see i'll playing with 4-1-4-1 cuz last time i have 58 % ball possession it's effective formation i had many attacks but nothing goes well ...


maybe if i switched to 4-5-1 V style 2nd half it will be more risky.. but you will never know if you never try .. right !!

Then I recommend no counter-attack. Your defense is good, but if you allow him to keep pressing, he might score. And if you're going through the middle, then try putting arrows on the MCs (instead of the ML/MR).

And don't hesitate to change things accordingly, if it's not going as expected. To be completely honest with you, it's the only thing that anyone can be truly sure of.
