4-5-1V vs 4-1-2-1-2

I'm on my 4th season now, and this season starts with a bad game. My average players quality is at 35.5, whilst the opponent 22.9. He's using 4-1-2-1-2, while I countered with a 4-5-1V (which has work countering that formation for the past 3 seasons). All my players have superb moral and 99% Condition.

Somehow I just cannot fathom how I could loose to this player 12.6 quality below me by 1:3 with a working counter formation. Is it me or the game does have really random results at times?

He has countered your team with a narrow diamond formation its very strong against certain other formations whether your team is stronger or not 4-5-1v just is'nt consistant anymore . Also sometimes the league throws in a strange result it happens all the time Bro !!!

You could stop countering weaker teams, if their formations do not counter yours.
It looks like you've had it easy untill this level, i did not, so trust me, on the above.

And for future reference, the counter that i find is working right now against ND is 4-1-3W-2.

This game is from CL, last night.
It was "ment" for me to lose (by the ****ty software), but i won.
Whay do i say that? All my good players got ****ty grades.
Almost the same players that won today 5-1 (away), in the cup, against a level 6 squad, with a bit better quality.

I've been having success with 3-1-4-2 against ND. 4-5-1 V somehow lost it's punch.

Oh how cute, a "working counter formation".... No such thing. Did you really expect to win because you "countered" his formation? Sorry but there is more to this game than just trying to counter a formation.

Weird. I almost always win against 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond when using 4-5-1V. I don't use any arrows, and I play on normal settings. The only thing I really change when playing 4-5-1V is playing down on both flanks.

Yup, 4-5-1V is not as reliable anymore It was an attempt with reference to July Fourth's deleted thread on counter formations + my understanding of counter formations.

But I believe its mainly due to system randomness, whereby a 1-2 star defender can easily block acttacks from 6 Star attackers, and 3-Star forwards have no problem getting pass 5 star defenders and scoring goals against 6 star keepers. I was stunned watching the whole match, its like the system had mixed up my player stats versus opponent's stats.

@Eugen Cristea: Gonna feel ****ty huh if u were beaten by that other 1-3 star team? My jaw dropped looking at how the opponent's 3 star forward scored 2 goals against my (one-on-One) 6 star Keeper, and the other by a 4-star midfielder. Seriously made me think "why the heck do I even buy tokens"

@dv8r: I wasn't expecting to win SOLELY because I had a counter formation, but mainly because I have 12.6 Quality on average more (that's easily 2 star difference) than the opponent, with my good players on field with Superb Morale and 99% Condition.

Try looking at the new table of counters.
They mostly work.

Never use 4-1-4-1 vs 4-3-3m that does not
