There are a few options for a 4-man midfield against an opponent not using an AMC

4-4-2
4-4-1-1
3-4-1-2

You can decide based on the strength of your squad. If your defenders are very good then you can go with a 3 man defence (3-4-1-2). If your MCs are stronger than your defence then I suggest 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1.

Play mix passing and down both flanks.
