Thank you but i didn't even have to play against this formation. The first game he didn't have enough players and in the second game he changed his format to 3-5-2 V-Style which i countered with 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly and won 3:0.Quote:

@July Fourth Red baron is playing a stronger team which is using 4-2N-3W-1. He is using 4-1-2-1-2 ND as we both agreed upon. He will post his result and so we can see if Narrow Diamond is the correct counter for this as the place is blank on thtable of counter formations.

4-5-1 V is the right choice, go with it. The 4 defender will take care of his ST and ML/MR, DMC will take on his AMC. There will be 2 MC to balance his two. Ur AML and AMR will exploit his lack of wing defence. The only prob will be that your ST will be alone against 3 DCs. So, go attacking, down the flanks, press own half, hard tackling, short passing, yes to cmonter attack, no to offside trap. Red arrow on AML, AMR, DLand DR. Blue on the 2 DCs. :)Quote:

Choices choices, do I've got today a match against 4-4-2 classic. We are very even and last game I had injuries so had to play 4-4-2 as well but pushed one of my wide midfilders as a AMR. He won 2-0.
I usually got with 4-5-1 V but I'm wondering if the DMC is a waste or will the Red Arrow remove my worries? The other option would be 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond. Again DMC but I'm concerned this guy has red arrows on his DR/DL and MR/ML and I'll suffer by not having any side protection.
At the moment, I'm setup to go like for like as I've a better starting line up.
Thoughts people?

3-1-4-1-1 would work. if you defenders are faster than the opponent's attackers, then play offside trap. Put blue arrow on your DMC so he will always be there to block the rival's AMC.Quote:

What beats the dreaded 4-3N-1-2 these days?
Recently played against 3DC -2DMC-ML-MC-MR- 2ST with 4-3N-1-2. He was dominating till I changed formation, although my team was 10Q better than him. Something to consider ;)

I was going to go with 4-3MC-1AMC-2 Short passing thru the middle to try stop him even getting the ball to his strikers.

I like to defend with 5 defenders when there's 3 opposite strikers , especially when there's 2 wingers more.
You have to play with 2 strikers because he only have 1 central defender.
For midfield it depends of your team's strength compared to the opposite team's strength.
If you're weaker, play with 3 MC; if you're as strong or stronger, play with 2 MC and 1 AMC. It's possible to switch during the match (depends of the evolution of the match).
So i'll advise you to play 5-3N-2 and switch during the match to 5-2MC-1AMC-2 if you control the match but don't score goals, or if you lose.
Defensive mentality, mixed passing, pressing own half, normal passing, normal tackling (or strong if he's better than you), force counter attacks, no offside trap.
PS: i don't know about attacking threw the middle in this situation, maybe it will be efficient?
