Oh, 4-4-2 again.

If you look at the fields/positions on the pitch, 4-4-2 is the most balanced formation in the game. if there are any flaws in your team 4-4-2 is likely to exploit that and is therefor for me a nice counterformation. It will most of the times be a tough match for any team. Because 4-4-2 is so well balanced, my counter's depend greatly on the strengths and shortcomings of my own teams; what is effective for one, fails miserably for my other teams. I think 4-4-2 is one formation where there is no real universal counter which works for most most of the time. I am each season again looking for a good counter for 4-4-2, especially with a lot of mutations.

I recommend befirending a few 4-4-2 teams and trial and error a few formations.
