    Try 4-1-2N-1-2 Narrow Diamond.
I have had no issues so far this season (and previous season), 5 wins and 1 draw (due to an early Red Card).
Motivated DL, DR, DMC, AMC. Attacking mentality, Passing through middle, normal tackle (hard if opponent doesn't have free kick SA), own-half pressing, Short passing, Zonal marking. No Counter, No Offside.
    Season 19

    League Winner - Levels 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,15,16,17,18
Champions League Winner - Levels 2,3,5,6,10,13,15,17,18
    Cup Winner - Level 3,5,16
Cup Quarter Finals - Levels 1,2

    Oh, 4-4-2 again.

If you look at the fields/positions on the pitch, 4-4-2 is the most balanced formation in the game. if there are any flaws in your team 4-4-2 is likely to exploit that and is therefor for me a nice counterformation. It will most of the times be a tough match for any team. Because 4-4-2 is so well balanced, my counter's depend greatly on the strengths and shortcomings of my own teams; what is effective for one, fails miserably for my other teams. I think 4-4-2 is one formation where there is no real universal counter which works for most most of the time. I am each season again looking for a good counter for 4-4-2, especially with a lot of mutations.

I recommend befirending a few 4-4-2 teams and trial and error a few formations.

    Cool

Gotta agree with Fugazi with my two cents. The 4-1-2-1-2 can be useful, but still see 4-4-2 pull through
    Might come down to tatics.
I throw the 4-4-2 out there when possible, it just offers up issues lol
Countering, still looking for a good one
    post up some results.

I use 4-4-2 and the only tactic which in my opinion could beat 4-4-2 is 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond.

I honestly cant understand topeleven random engine .. i did draw 2-2 , i was winning confortably 1-0 thn suddenly out of nothing i conceded 2 goals in 3 minutes , he had no attacking highlights before the 2 goals , than i had 2 just after and my players failed , and when it was already impossible to do anything i scored in the 90th minute
