IMO the butterfly would, not to sure about the V, then again i don't really think the engine is so sophisticated, as long as you are within one square with zonal it should be OK.
Just attack his left flank, you could also move your AML over one square and the striker one to the right. :)

Actually, play with 4 defenders and one striker, keep the rest the same. Then you're okay :)

Hey, how to beat this formation

4-1-2-1-2 (GK, DL,2xDC,DR, DMC, MR, ML, AMC, 2x ST). This is very similiar to the narrow Diamond, but with the MR and ML instead of MC, so there are wingers.

Anything you want, it is a illegal formation, No flank players, you will get 80% possession, just need to score.

I have won with 3-4-1-2 as I remember 4-2 - attacing , mixed and agressve

The Narrow Diamond is a very effective attacking formation, however the vulnerability of this formation is the lack anything to protect the flanks.

A 4-5-1 V Style formation can take advantage of the flanks of the diamond with an AML and AMR as well as defend against the AMC by using a DMC.

4-5-1 V Style:

AML---------AMR
-----MC--MC---

DL-DC-DC-DR

Another variation on countering the narrow diamond would be by using the 4-3-2-1:

4-3-2-1

---------ST-------
AML---------AMR
---MC-MC-MC---
--DL-DC-DC-DR--

Although there is no DMC with the 4-3-2-1 it is still a very effective attacking formation to counter the Diamond with, mainly because of the strong middle as well as having attacking flanks.
If during the match you feel the AMC is taking advantage, then a simple (DOWN) arrow would be placed on the middle MC which in turn effectively would be turning this formation into a 4-5-1 V Style.

I made it to my Cup finals in my second season, but I got a tough opponent who is two levels above me and 5 point difference with this formation. :

It looks like a 4-5-1V, but instead of a DR, it's a DMR. What is the best formation to counter this? I do not have a DMR or DML and I don't want to spend one until next season since there's only a few day until the new season.

I'm thinking going 5-2-3-1 or 5-4-1 with DR & DL red arrows, defensive counter. I don't want to go with that if there's a better formation.

I beat 4-1-4-1 by using 3-4-3, they only have 1 ST so you don't need to leave many in defense.

I'd go for the 4-2-2-2 Hexagon, It seems to be good at getting results against teams that play in similar formations to this.
