How to Win Against Any Formation?

Can someone explain to me what this means:
"Play attacking mentality, down the flanks, and red arrows on your wide players."
What it is: down the flanks? This MR + ML (down)?

On your "squad" screen you should see a wrench symbol to your right, next to the pitch. Click the wrench symbol that says "orders" and you should see "Team mentality" change it to attacking, change your passing style to down both flanks, when you've done this, click back to tactics, the icon above the wrench and on your (MR + ML) midfield right and midfield left click the shirt on the pitch until it shows a red arrow. It makes them attack more, get forward.
