Thats not true. Playing out of formation is NOT an illegal formation.

Illegal formation will get a 20% possession regardless of anything else. Out of position players give you a slight possession loss (from other forum members research, they assumed minimal loss of around 2%) and will have generally worse ratings. Part of formations being legal include GKs being used as GKs, so a formation could look fine but actually there is an outfield player as goalie and that makes it illegal
It does not make it a 20% possession. It is still considered legal, although the out of position rules apply. There have been people who have lost to a team with 2 GKs in the outfield
Yeah I lost to a team earlier with a striker in goal but legal in all other ways....and I had 80% (but 0 goals XD)
