If you have the players for it, Butterfly is very effective against The V. Your Wingbacks shut down their wings and you play down the flanks to your unguarded wingers.
I played about 6 seasons with the V and Butterfly was my nemesis, and whenever I faced the V I switched to Butterfly with great success.
Can't promise it'll work for you of course, but it worked very well for me.
