    Counter attack and superior possession?

    hi guys, beginner question here

My team plays sometimes in heavy midfield formations such as 4-1-4-1 with force counter attack set. In the game I end up with 60%/70% possession because of bonuses etc.

Does it make sense to play counter attack when you win by far in possession?

    And related question:
Does it make sense to setup a formation with an undersized midfield but larger defense and attack so as to deliberately lose possession and play counter attack?

    thanks

Well, it terms of pure football this would be sensible. In top 11, "counter-attack" is more another way for saying direct football: you go straight to goal but you are at risk of losing the ball. So, yes: it makes sense to play counter-attack while dominating in terms of possession.
