I do not think there is a proper counter to 4-5-1V: that might be the reason why I play it for 25 seasons 90% of the time . You may win but you better be prepared to lose ! On the other hand, I can suggest what you should NOT do: avoid 4-4-2 classic and make sure you have either DML/R or better DL/DR. 3 MC might help or maybe something like 4-2MC-3WAM-1, which I never challenge with 4-5-1V.
