Red face The best formation against 4-4-2

According to your experience what would be the best formation against 4-4-2 classic? And what orders do you usually use?

Butterfly for me.. Normal/attacking, down both flanks. The rest is depending on my mentality but usually full pitch, short passing and offside trap. That's just me though

Thank for your comment. Yesterday I played against weaker team about 5 quality point. It was an away Champ game, he present + his friend + full home supporter, however the total possession for the match is quite even his 49% and I got 51%.

I use butterfly, normal but switch to attack after the 1st half, down both flank, pressing own half, short pass, no offside. I dont know what I did wrong but I lost 1-0 at min 14' and cannot score even 1 goal.

Even though in the second half abou 60' I change to Narrow Diamond 4-1-2-1-2 attack, through middle. However it was useless.

The home game is tomorrow I dont know if I should use butterfly again since it was not working? Or might as well use 4-4-2 just like him to see what happen. Anyone please advice thanks

4-3-2-1 and 4-5-1 V style are the best against 4-4-2

this counter formations is pretty much one big ****, i tried 451 against 442 several times, opponent also had two players on wrong position, and also 4 points weaker then me, so how it finished, simply, double shots for him, i lost 1:0, and i can for sure say that this game is one big ****ing ****

4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond is working very well for me against the classic 4-4-2.
Red Arrow on the DMC, attacking, full pitch, short passing.

Reallaw, why dont you put red arrow on DL and DR to increase the flank attack? BTW, are you attack through the middle as wel? Are you putting Hard mental as well if you are losing by 1-0? Thanks
