    You will get more corner kicks when you attack through the wing(s), and few corners when you focus through the middle.

    I think the best way to beat 4-4-2 is 3dc/1dmc imagine the rest.
    Offside trap should be of, the game will punish you (with at least a yellow card) if you play offside trap against two or more strikers, against a stronger team be sure of them scoring at least one goal, or a red card if not both.
    And focus on the middle, why? 4-4-2 does not have players there, so I put one AMC in the middle and another ST there too. They will always be free to get balls, and to shoot.
