Yeah, I will.
But I've decided to go with this S-shaped formation and attack through the left flank:

Match starts in an hour, will see how it goes.

Changed my mind in the last minute and introduced a DR instead of the MR, turning it into a modified 4-4-2:

AML--------------------
-------MC---MC---------
--------------------DMR
DL---DC------DC---DR

Red arrows on DL, AML & blue on both DCs, DR and DMR.
Normal mentality, Left flank, Own half, Normal tackling, Long passes, Zonal marking; Force counter-attacks and no offside trap

Got the needed 0:2 result and I'm through to the semi-final.

Hi, any experience using 3-2-2-2-1 butterfly against 4-4-2? The table of counter formations suggests it, but nobody has mentioned it yet. Which tactics should I use? Thx, I am playing for two or three weeks now and already in cup semi-final, I would be nice to win a cup so soon, especially when the other three opponents are bots

A bot using 4-4-2? That's a first, lol.
I wouldn't recommend trusting the counter-table thread - most of it doesn't work anymore. If you're better in quality than the other team - just use 4-4-2 as well, that's the only sane advice I can really give you.

Table of counter formation dosen`t work at all,, I used it 3 times and I lost,

My team has better quality in general, but my top players are amr/aml and st - in the midfield is the bot stronger. Maybe I'll use V-style, that suits my squad best. Thanks for the advice though

just played an away match against a 4-4-2 system. his average quality was 32,6 mine 32,3...

i decided to use a 4-5-1 V, red arrows on dmc, aml & amr...

mentality: normal
passing: mixed, through both flanks
pressing: own half
marking: zonal

+counter attack

i had about 55% ball possession and WON the game 2:4 (0:3), waisting several other chances while he really just had those 2 chances which he converted into his 2 goals...
