Question: Weird formation, need help!

Hey,

First of all, thanks for reading this.

I'm up against a team that is using a weird looking formation.

He has been using for the last few matches and seems to win with it.
It seems it's not illegal but isn't he using his DR as a DMR, therefore only having 2 defenders (illegal)?

This is his setup:


What's the best option I have to counter this and win the match?
I'm currently doing pretty well.

This is my team:
(the red carded MC will be substetuted by a MC that is currently injured)


I was thinking of something is the lines of:

Maybe you should think about having more offensive presence since he has just two defenders and no DMC, maybe play with a 2nd striker and/or an AMC (even if in your case should be somebody out of position). I also could think about attacking by your left flank, where he has only 2 midfielders and no defenders. That could be an option just to see how it goes.

no arrows on dmc . this is a big mistake if u put that . 4-1-3w-2 will work your strikers will outnumber his dc and your flank attack will be prove usefull and his formation is illegal , u will get 80% possesion

Thanks for the responses.

I'm going to go with 4-4-2. I've used that last time and won. But he still managed to score (hence the more defensive formation previously mentioned).

Beat the guy with 1-6 using good old 4-4-2 with DM and DL up, passing flanks (changed to left flank later) and the rest standard.
