I played one opponent 4x this season, in cup first round and league. He was about 15-20% weaker (also I have well trained players, he not so much) in every game and we both played the same formations...

Not in my opinion, I have almost only single position players. Few games ago my DL was suspended, I played a DC as the DL for a game, it didn't really make a difference.

If you are really good, you dont notice a difference. Just in fairly balanced games. Also I think it maybe has something to do with supporters. Maybe they get added for the away team.. ? :/

You said it right, thats why I save this stuff. Better team gets you better opponents. This was always the thing that I dont get in this game and that prevents me from spending a bit of money on it...
