    Farewell to a LEDGEND

This week it's the little maestro, Mr Sachin K Tendulkar.

Not sure how many stars he would have earned?
Watched all his live games to our local bullring, whenever he visited our shores. Thanks for the memories, frustrations and above all, enjoyment.
    Go in peace

He is my fav and my idol. And he is from my country. U will be surprised to see but we worship him here like Argentina worships Maradonna. See my avatar.......Last match has started but right now we r bowling. So we will see him bat tomorrow. And it is Sachin R. Tendulkar.....
Last match I will be watching, he retires and no more cricket for me. Hope he plays good and bats for a long time, hopefully the whole day so we can see him more. Cricket was my religion, but Sachin IS still my GOD. ThankyouSachin.

What makes him even gr8er is the facts that he has not been involved in any controversy or any umsportsman like behaviour, and he is still humble and down to earth after a 22 year carrier and almost all cricketing records in his name. That is Legend and his batting is a different league altogether.

K as in Ramesh, as in LE....D...GEND?? It was early in the morning.

Agreed, he played like a sportsman and left the controversy off the pitch. The true measurement of a sportsperson.

    Profile
Sachin Tendulkar has been the most complete batsman of his time, the most prolific runmaker of all time, and arguably the biggest cricket icon the game has ever known. His batting is based on the purest principles: perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making, and that intangible quality given only to geniuses - anticipation. If he doesn't have a signature stroke - the upright, back-foot punch comes close - it is because he is equally proficient at each of the full range of orthodox shots (and plenty of improvised ones as well) and can pull them out at will.

Most no. Of individual 100s and 50s open both Tests and ODIs

Highest run scorer in both Tests and ODIs

    Most4s and 6s in total

First player to score 200 in ODIs

Highest run scorer in a single calendar year.

    Most Man of Matches

    Most player of Tournaments

Most Golden Bats at World Cups

Highest scorer in a single WC edition.

These r a few..... If I give the whole list , the match will get over.

After hanging up his gloves is he going into politics???
Minister of Sport in India.. certainly not in BCCI??
Would be good to hear Tendulkar as a commentator for a little while, just so that we can listern to some of his views, insights over a longer and on a different conversation platform.
I would love to have Tendulkar, Ponting, Pollock, Akram, Ambrose, Hossen, Lara all sitting together and having a televised chat show/debate/roasting.

how is Dravid doing in ICC...I think???

Did Ranatunga ( the Lankan) not enter politics as well when he retired??

Sachin is the Member of the Upper House of Parliament here and says he will devote himself to improving the status of sports in India, especially our nationalnsport Hockey. Cricket is already popular here thanks to his 22 years of entertainment. He might as well be a part time commentator but nothing is confirmed. Will like to here him. Yeah, Sachin, Ponting, Lara and Co. Is a gr8 idea. I will include Adam Gilchrist to in that list.
Dravid, another legend, well, he too is a gr8 icon in India and is currently commentating. No idea of his work in ICC. And no idea about Ranatunga as well.
And I don't think a person of Sachin's class will ever go to BCCI....... That is below his standard.
And Sachin feels that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have gr8 carriers ahead and can beat his records.
Recently Rohit scored 209 in ODI and became the 3rd batsmen to do it and people on Twitter r like, "Sachin said that Rohit or Virat can beat his record..... GOD'S WORDS CAN NEVER BE FALSE"

There will always be many waiting in the wings to step in and try to take over.. Time and patience will tell.

The "sad" thing about cricket is people (spectators) cannot afford 5 days to focus on the game. Times have changed, so much more to do and so little time, etc. Test cricket, which may still be the measure of a great player, may also fall away one day.

No disrespect , but the only thing I know about Indian hockey is the sticks used so often in the movies by the baddies

End of day, Sachin 38 not out. Will continue tomorrow but unfortunately I won't he able to see the first 2 sessions due to school.
Well, he looked awesome and focused and a few off his shots showed that Class is Permanent. A last century coming up? Only time will tell. Hope he gives his best and all over, enjoys his last match.

School should come to a halt when Sachin is at the crease.
