Yea but this is not like the other group stages. Thats why there a 3 different competitions to see which club has the most tactics not just players bought from the scouts with 6*.
In this competition if u cant make to much mistakes like u do in League and CL.
You will face your opponent just once and there wont be a second chances.

So if I lose in the beginning, I have a season that I don't get to play in the Cup? That's the point of the Cup is so that EVERYONE has a chance to win

Well tell me then from 13 matches if u cant win at least 18 points to go in to the next stage then whats the point of continuing..
The 13 matches are not going to be every day so u will have 28 days to make changes in your club.
You think all real players want winning league, CL and other competition to end with a good carrier?
All players Dream is to win the World Cup and they need to wait 4 years (1460 days) for the next chance.
And what if u lose?? You will just need to wait 28 days.
