I was in previous seasons from 4 or 5 season thinking like you say ... but when you advance to the higher levels it become so difficult to win a player in auction in the right price and with lower number of tokens .

and when you think a while, you will find that the scouted player is so much profitable and cheaper than the other player you buy from auction .... this because in my case when i bought a player rated 79 and 6* ... here you can say he will be developed and i can keep him for 4 seasons at least and here the price and number of tokens paid is cheaper and lower than buying 5* player every season .

when i talk about buying 5* player means 99% 5* like in my level (74 rating) not 70 or 71 or 72 ... i mean that every season my main squad must be 99% 5* because like my league now I'll compete 8 players quite like my rating and won their league last season and the rest is not bad and can bother me when i face them .
