He's now back to 6 form after a blistering return and is now back on the bench...this has just confused me now...

Form has to be a thing that you can alter in the short term but is basically player based...

One of my MC with 4* ended up with a rating of 3 today and cost me the match, Now I'm five points behind first place even though I have the best quality team in the league. Since the season began I have endured his rating of 5,6 and 7 but today after the match I had to sell him.

Agreed...if it turns out to be a long term thing (i.e..a problem) with a player then sell...im thinking of doing that to my "star" striker now...

It could be down to marking yes as the lower level teams are easier to play against and then the players return to a harder opponent and they suffer as a result...the debate will rage on im sure...

My experience tell me that one of the most important thing are the money you give for win. I also take care of quality (five stars), moral and healing, but ratings... Im not sure about its importance.

I think I will be selling my ML when I can replace him but my transfer market is rubbish and the scout list is only offering a 28yr old so I am stuck at the moment.

Yes ratings affect the game. I lost a match to a 2* team in the league when my team is 4* and morale is superb including condition, also I gave the team max winning bonus.

Ratings are only thing you cannot control. You can increase moral, condition, winning bonus and quality but you cannot do anything in order to improve ratings. That is for why i guess ratings are not important, but i dont really know.
