If the opponent had 80% possession, and you 20%, it probably means you were playing an illegal formation.

The formation I played was the same one I always play.
All players in their correct positions.

Read properly - the opponents possession did not deviate from 80% for the entire match - not once did it move from 80% and I know this because I was watching the whole time.

It did not fluctuate as it usually does it went straight to 80% and stayed there the entire match and did not move.

It's not about players in position. Formations should have at least 3 defenders, 2 players out wide, and one forward. The penalty for failing to meet these criteria is 20% possession maximum
