July Fourth Win The Champions League!!!
July Fourth 132.2 Narrow Diamond - OneThai Man U 124.1 3N-2W-1-1-2 (Anchor)
OneThai thought that the best chance of winning this final against us was to attack and play the long ball by keeping players back, but the formation you would think would play into the hands of the Narrow Diamond and I just kept thinking for 2 days I should play Narrow Diamond, Maybe a smart choice but OneThai were the better team in much of this game and put us under pressure for much of the contest, They created a few chances early and nearly went 1-0 up at the beginning with Silva's shot being saved by Knight, It took a while for us to get going, Kusama and Papaleo both tried to play a way through before Petersen's corner came in for Papaleo to get above the defence to give us the lead, OneThai were still offensive and Calavicci but in a couple of tackles and fouls to stop OneThai getting any efforts on goal. Then we won a free-kick just before HT and Beckett fired it just over the bar.
July Fourth were unphased by OneThai's attacks and know how to defend well as they always have done as a team. Petersen's cross was blocked by Vega and Beckett's 30 meters shot was deflected away by Larkin, Papaleo then soon got in behind the OneThai's defence and crossed in for Hogan to header in for 2-0. Then Silva on a counter for OneThai nearly got them back in the game as Douva put it wide. Hardy and Petersen both created a few more opportunities before we moved in Michu and Miku into the game with taking off Petersen and Pietropaolo. OneThai however finally found joy when they got a double corner, silva crossed in and Larkin hit the back of the net to put OneThai back in the final, July Fourth were however able to hang on as Poziello's shot hit Michu and Rezmanyi was tackled by Calavicci, Then in the dying moments Douva's shot for OneThai was blocked by Beckett and then the final whistle went to confirm July Fourth as Champions League Winners!!!
Goals: Papaleo (26) Hogan (48)
Larkin (74) MOTM: Calavicci.
Team Talk: We were second best here but still found a way to win... But we are more focused on tomorrows league game which would send us into the history books!
