League Round 18 - Hard Fought Draw
July Fourth 2-2 BESIKTAS
July Fourth 136.4 4-4-2 classic then 60 minutes 4-3W-1-2 - BESIKTAS 131.2 4-3N-3
Today we underperformed against a in-form BESIKTAS side that setup an attacking formation to try and get something out the game and they certainly managed that, but to be fair BESIKTAS should of won the game, they dominated the opening exchanges and created many chances on goal in which Rafelli and Sampaio caused our defence problems but we stood firm with Ramirez doing all the hard work, We did take the lead against the run of play when we won a corner for Petersen to cross in for Pietropaolo to header us infront before HT, but back came BESIKTAS after the restart, Upton (Yes Chris it's your favourite!) had a couple of efforts saved before Rafelli was able to take it round Knight to equalise, But it only took 10 minutes later for Petersen to show his class with a long range drive to get us back into the lead, the rest of the match belonged to BESIKTAS and we didn't get a look in, Sampaio on the counter found Nouma who tucked it away to level up the scores, BESIKTAS had chances to find a winner, Sifonetti should of scored after being presented with a great ball from Rafelli and a BESIKTAS corner was headed away by Ramirez, there was once last chance for BESIKTAS when Kerr's cross found Nouma who couldn't finish it and we hanged onto our unbeaten run.
Goals: Pietropaolo (41) Rafelli (52) Petersen (63) Nouma (64) MOTM: Hardy (???)
Team Talk: The draw means that we may not win the league now at the weekend, but it doesn't matter much since we are going to win the league soon and we couldn't repeat last seasons perfect record since we drew earlier in the season against Adanaspor, We are 17 points ahead with 8 games remaining. We cannot complain with a draw because BESIKTAS were the better team this afternoon.
