Are there any other counter formations against hexagon other than 442 as last time I used it I struggled to beat bottom side?

I don't think it doesn't matter if you will play with blue arrows on aml and amr. I start normally with normal mentality and in the game I gonna change the mentality. Through the middle/ down both flanks. short/mixed.

You could also try the ND or 4-5-1 v style
