Season 45

The season is over now and I predicted a top 3 finish in the league and we bettered that. The 3 I predicted to be top were in the top 4 at the end.

We scored 86 in the league not the most in the division but we conceded only 9 which is less than any other team.

25 win and 1 strange draw around half way put us in the CL next season as Champions of level 6.

Our players managed 45 MOM awards in all competitions.




The Champions League Final was a massive anti climax.
We took a hammering 4-0 and had very few chances.


The CUP FINAL was the most disappointing where we narrowly lost 2-1 after extra time. It was a close affair had our chances but it wasn't to be.



Well done to everyone that's achieved some form of success this season, for everyone else good luck next season.

I know everyone is wondering what happened to the Acadamy.

Well part way through the season after July Fourth pointed it out they changed their name to the correct spelling of Academy.....grumble grumble, tokens not well spent, grumble grumble.

My phone was out of action for 3 days and couldn't access the team and lost all 3 league games not good.

They had a better run in without defeat and have managed to qualify for next years CL, could finish 3rd or 4th.

Reached the semis and lost to the eventual winners

It's been 8 seasons and i think this is the first time I actually see the table at the end of the season



Player of the Season : CRonaldo with 27 goals
Team player of the Season: VPersie with 17 assists
Flop of the Season: DBeckham - Despite being 7* quite early into the season, his contributions were limited, under performed in important games
Honorable mention: RHolzapfel - Free retiring player given by engine, performed well enough in League games as subs ST when the 2 main STs are saved for CL/Cup, scored 10 goals in 16 games



Overall, yet a disappointing season. Won the league but lost the CL final and was eliminated quite early in Cup.

As a result, the Board at GNFC has decided that they will NOT give the manager any cash to buy new players next season unless the team make it to Cup RO16. The expansion of the stadium also took half of our cash at bank.

Last league game and once again we did a wonderful job by scoring 8 goals.
Unfortunately our AMR's got injured 2 times in a row (even after replacing him once). Also got couple of YC's, but we still rocked.
