I think it depends of the atributes in the atack.
For exemple If he have highest drible skills, then SA dribller.
For playmaker i think it must be passe and crossing the highest.
At least i think it works that way.
In Any case i think it is better playmaker in MC and DMC
Dribler in MR/L AMR/L

I used 50 skill points on a young player and found that it would have been better to have applied those points to his def, attack, physical.
He was a dml/dmc, playmaker. I made him a mc. He lost almost 1m in value. That's the last time I will ever apply skill points to a SA or Position.
I hope someone has had better luck with their player / skill points use
I have a fast trainer and decided to train him to playmaker (a MC) now he cant do **** he just gets yellows and makes mistakes when he's playing..

Learn as if you were to live forever.
Don't. Playmakers are useless. They r supposed to assist more but they assist less than anybody. They r also a yellow card magnet and get injured frequently. They never even score. Dribbler is a bit better. but don't train SA. Buy them if u want, it is better to assign 40/50 skill points to their normal attributes than to train SA. I always buy SA, have never trained them.
"Did he frequently get yellow card? "
Not really....never noticed the card issue.
But I have only used him once, I think, in the new role as mc. I still play him as DMC. He is still good, but the 50 points was definitely wasted, BY ME.
