damned if you do, damned if you dont.

There is no perfect formation, only ones that beat the others most of the time. therefore, at some point, you should change your formation if you know your opponents formation is effective enough vs your formation that your chances of losing are greater than your chances at winning.

I am a level one noob, and I even know this.

Its like coke/pepsi, everyone has their opinion and believe it to be the right one and the other is bad.
Some people win and dont change their formations, others win with changing them (like me).

I find that most token buyers buy players to form a team and mostly stick to a formation, mostly 4-4-2 as it is one of the more dominant formations.

I have favourite formations (3N-1-4-2) but its not the best against every other formation so I change my formation from time to time because I like winning with more chances than hoping I win with lesser chances, if you know what I mean.

So its up to you. I change formations because I want to give myself a greater chance to win. the game engine is fickle, illogical, and unpredictable at the best of times. The reason for this is the ******** ****** (self-redacted) at Nordeus and their lack of intelligence at programming because they refuse to let knowledgeable football fans with programming experience, program this game. That is obvious only after a few seasons of troll results.

Dammit, this was not supposed to be this long but I got suckered into it. honestly.

It all depends on what you want from this game. I get my frustrations from the game out in this forum. the longer they refuse to fix things and give us information on this game, the more frustrated I get. Let see where this game is in 5 months when my wife delivers our twins and go from there.

Good luck in whatever decision you make. If I end up facing your team, I hope you decide to stick with a formation...that makes my job easier.

I help u define experienced -- at least won 1 Cup and 1 League

If a club never won any cup and league after 100 games, does it qualify as experienced ? An afterthought

95% of the time, I use classic 4-4-2. Only time I would change is if I had insufficient players through injury or suspension. Even then, I would rather put a player out of position rather than change formation. And I NEVER change my formation to combat the opposition. I use the view, let them be worried of me, rather than vice-versa.

Im on level 7 and 99% of all my matches have been won.. And my formation has stayed the same through out. As why would i adjust my way of playing to change it to the way my opponents are playing... That's weak. All i do is keep them in top condition and moral and upgrading my players through the transfer market and i collect free gold every day to do this..

If and when you do see a hole or weakness in the OPP, how do you adjust to take advantage? via tactics/orders or a tweak in formation.

Apologies to the experienced managers for interrupting your discussion

Because that's how the game was designed? That's like saying you always pick rock in 'rock-paper-scissors'. Sure it's a good plan when nobody knows you pick rock, but that's not how it works in T11. Your rock might be strong enough to beat everything else up to this point (and likely will stay so for a while cause there are 10 million players, so chances are you won't meet many players who care), but at some point you might meet that paper who is slightly weaker or equal/greater to your rock and you *will* lose (troll mourinho withstanding).

Personally I want to win my matches with full dominance where possible, so I often adjust my formation to somewhat counter the opponent. Usually in the form of simple choices such as playing with a DMC or AMC depending on the opponent's strength/weakness and using arrows.
Nothing wrong with either way of playing the game, but adjusting tactics makes the game a lot more dynamic and interesting for me.

Counter opponent's formation if they r better or anywhere close. If inactive or my opponents are very weak, I choose the formation which makes all my best players to stay on ground.
