    Eh, I doubt handling is a specific goalkeeper's statistic. Handling more likely refers to all kind of ball control, so it's really not useless at all for any position. At least in real life a player who can handle a ball well makes less mistakes and has a better first touch.

    You are spot-on. Handling in football in general means how and where on the body to hold the football so that it is protected in running and tackling situations. The handling skill is not a GK specific skill.
