INTIMIDATION

I noticed this last season.

I decided to dedicate my Top Eleven team to LFC, the football team I support.

I went ahead and bought the official kit & emblem, renamed all my players accurately to reflect the current LFC squad, changed the team name, stadium etc. etc.

TL;DR it makes me look like Mr. Moneybags

(Which I'm not, I've just taken advantage of tons of offers, I must have gained around £300 worth of tokens for free by now)

Now whenever I go into auctions and bid on players, I notice that they all seem to drop out and quit after the first 2/3 rounds.

I noticed in one instance where 10+ Managers bid on the same player, and I won him for 2 tokens.

Anyone else experienced this after buying official items?

Yeah this happens the other people thinks that he is huge token buyer after looking at the official logo and dress...I my self do not bid when I spot some one like this...

I think you are right. I have a good logo and this helped me "I think" to buy 12 new players rated 9s for a combined 75 token in the first 4 days of of the new season. Again I have never bought tokens. I spend time on the free offers.....

no not me i`m savvy with transfers, (well i was ) i came across a great player and i heard never mess with a Thai player well i did and won my most expensive at 26 tokens normally i`m 5/6 rounds max but with this player i wanted and to teach them not to mess with me lol well since then i`v never had a bidding war a Thai player since and they seem to drop out of bidding ( think i have a rep over there lol)

I've always made sure I bid at appropriate times and check out the opposition bidders to scope out whether it'll result in a bidding war, I used to follow the same philosophy, if the other bidder looked like he had tokens to burn, I'd look elsewhere.

However this new intimidation strategy seems to work I guess, although not everybody can afford to buy the official items

This is a good strategy do you have an amount of rounds your prepared to go ???? ie 3 only 5 only etc ???

If you are prepared to go the rounds, then it's good to have the cash to back to up, as well.

Depends on wether I need the player or not.

I'd say 25 tokens for someone who's perfect for me on the TL, in a much needed position as a replacement.

10 tokens for a player id need as a sub or a reserve.

But saying that, most of the time I end up just bidding for my pride and dignity.

I remember shouting at my phone once, "JUST GIVE UP NOW, I CAN GO 500+ ROUNDS IF I NEED TO, YOU'RE JUST WASTING MINE AND YOUR OWN TOKENS!'
