Can anyone here experienced tell me if they make any difference whatsoever?

Just went out the cup to a guy the same level as me (3) but an obvious token buyer.......

He played in both matches an absurd, lopsided formation (flat back 4, cdm, cm, lam, cam, cf x2) and he paid no attention to his FB's..... rated 13 and 16. I tried, as you would, to exploit his right hand side having just one player rated 16 but, in both games, I don't recall my LM even being mentioned!!!! What is that all about?

Worse still, in the 2nd leg I just played, he went down to 10 men with 20mins to go, unable to make anymore subs. I went hard attacking but never even registered a chance in the remaining time, despite still apparently dominating posession.

To make matters worse, his 2 goals came from free-kicks by a player named Cristiano Ronaldo who he used despite having 2 specialist free-kick takers......

Is the game trying to tell me to ignore tactics and just buy tokens for shinier players with SA's? I would have hoped sensible tactics would outdo these idiots hellbent on just winning, ignoring tactics, formations etc but it appears not.

i had the problem with this formation and even though i also completely dominated match i still lost 2-1 ironically both from free kicks too

Was it against a token buyer, when you aren't one yourself?

Same here....... He had your standard token buyer players but mixed in with useless FB's........ I had better ratings for both squad and starting XI.....he played a formation that any logical football game would hammer him for but it seemed to make no difference in either game. Worsened, as I said, by the fact I tried to exploit his stupidity but the game engine seemed to not take the obvious into account: i.e I had a huge advanyage down one side, instructed my play to do so......but the players involved (or should have been involved) then never got mentioned!?!?!?
