    So I sent him an offer, after 24 hours it said that player was sold to bot. What?

    If the manager rejects the offer or the 24 hours duration is completed this message appears but it does not means that the player has been sold to a bot...It is still in his team......

    I've seen that error happen once, when someone rejects the offer.
