In my time playing Top Eleven I've probably had around 50 players generated from the Youth Academy and NOT ONE SINGLE striker or attacking midfielder!!
I've had 2 goalkeepers (decent ones mind you) and all the rest have been defenders or midfielders (ML,MR,MC,DMC,DML,DMR).
Any one else had such a sh!t track record of young players?
Obviously all my youth coaches are defensive minded!!!!!

I thinks the players generated from youth academy depends a lot on your formation...You might be using a defensive formation consisting a lot of defenders and mid fielders that's why your youth are mainly defenders...
I use a formation consisting of a lot of AMC, AML, AMR hence my youth players generated are mainly Attacking Mid fielders...
i have 2 scout Gk age 20 and 19 but every 3 in 4 youth coming through are frogging Gk that i don`t need

AI have only had defenders and goalies!
So, no one gets strikers! Seems odd.
I just recently started getting STs, but they do seem to be the least often for most out of the Academy, I get D mostly. But my hubby has gotten 2 out of his level 4 Academy. He doesn't play 3 ST or anything, just lucky I guess.

I've been getting mostly MC)
You get youth players out of Roulette I think. I got I think around 15 strikers from youth and not so many gks, may be 5 or so and lots and lots of dcs.
