Payers after promotion.

My entire team is 18 and 19 year olds. I'm in level 2. My squad is valued at 25mil and I just want to make sure the value of my squad doesn't drop to half that just because I get promoted.

When I get promoted I understand they lose a star as it's a higher level, but do the actual sale and squad value of the player decrease? Since my players are still young they will improve but I want to make sure an 18 year old who is valued at 2mil doesn't drop to 1 million overnight just because I was promoted. Might aswell sell my most expensive players now (as I have all but been promoted) if that's the case.
