I sometimes concede goals in the 1st half and the 2nd half to avoid this I try to play better than the other team !!!!!!!!!!! It dosnt always work (sad ) subs dont worry me I never do them except maybe injuries or strikers .
Got to say sometimes I even score when making them so either I'm lucky or playing you Dave lol

Sometimes it works, I change depending on the formation I want and if I do keep the formation I change the tiring player which includes the defence
It really goes two ways. I've had both scenarios: one where I subbed and drew 2-2 in the last minutes when I was leading 2-0 the whole game. Then another game where my guy I just subbed scored within the next minutes.
Anyway you can see that you suddenly lose possession before having your sub in. I think it affects what happen next a bit.
Just like the rest, I guess you have to be a bit lucky
