Struggling to sell the rubbish players you get given from training academy etc?

if a guy goes 7-8 auctions without a sale ill normally change his name ect to a real life player for 1 token that normally works.

However if i change my team name to a Norgen team name .... people will think they are getting a Nordgen and bid for my unwanted players.......

aside from people in our forum who represent 0.0001% of people playing the game , no one else knows what is Nordgen .. so i kind disagree on this one but agree on changing name

I think in lower levels famous names might work...

I did in fact change a team of mine's name to Chatty FC awhile ago (and yesterday I saw an AC Chatty so it's a good bot name) and sold some guys. I don't know if they would have sold anyway or not. The team is level 18 though so I don't think name changes would help there.

Its fair to say at higher levels id guess most players know a Nordgen player or certainly know the trick of buying players 4 or 9 ending!
if i see a player in the market who plays for arsenal FC or daves muppets etc i know the player is just a crappy training academy or non performer etc

if i change my name to AC Chatty when you check player he has no history and i have known nordgen name...thus people are more likely to bid for him coz you will think he is a Nordgen which are best players

I'd suggest that assuming "most" higher level players have spotted the Nordgen trick might be stretching the point a bit - the % of players who're on forums is pretty low, and frankly the average punter's analytical skills might not spot the connection. Especially if they're not native English speakers.

That said, it's probably going to work at times, so is probably worth a token to do the name change.

Its a strategy that might help when ppl who actually look and read are buying but they're the minority.

PS. Don't assign too much intelligence to higher level players - most are just low level players who've stuck around a long time. >.< *runs away*

Well either way agree or not we cant ever tell for sure as have no access to data...

i think most lv 18+ guys know the trick, forums, how game works, 4 or 9 ending, nordgens! if they dont simply heavy token buyers to maintain performance and don't care bout nordgens they have tokens lol

i knew the nordgen trick before the forum but i'm a Championship Manager veteran so more inclined to look deeper into the game but yh most ppl prob dont bother looking into a flash game eh.

my point was kinda if i change my team name i wouldn't have to change player names as people would assume the player was a nordgen. in fact i wouldnt change player name if did this as no norgen is ever call Lionel Messi

well I wont be bidding on players from AC Chatty now....;-)

Also when changing the team name, it has to coincide with the regeneration of the transfer market. When I go on and notice the market has generated a bunch of norgens, there is many different team names, ie ac chatty, angry fc, ac happy....ect. So I know these are all norgens. However if I go on and there is a bunch of players from normal 'human' team names and say one player from 'ac eyebrow' or something, then is for sure a human name change....

People have been changing the names of players to popular footballers and selling them on the market for ages. Don't think you came up with that genius idea dicky :P.

I tend to avoid famous names because they do tend to get more bids.Never will I bid on a Lionel Messi! But I do have a random Marco Reus I got for a T on one of my 35T teams.

I actually like the funny generated names, they attract me more than the famous ones.
