    injuries and the realistic/fantasy cause

I am still very pissed at the injury system.

i have been keeping track of the past 2 seasons worth of injuries for my 5 accounts.

What gets me is the stupidity behind their classification and the fact that they dont change the system to reflect reality.

I will post my stats in a future post when I get more info, but what ticked me off today what this:

While stretching, normal, not hard, I got a 4 day injury of Dislocated shoulder. Wait, WHAT? I dislocated a shoulder while stretching. yes. dislocated. I was trying to get that jar of peanut butter from the top shelf and could not quite reach it, and thought, hell, just go for it and BOOOM! my arm flew out of my shoulder socket. amazing. and it hurt like a bitch.

another one: Broken Foot from normal Cardio, 6 days. First, what broken foot heals in 6 weeks enough for you to play. (6 days = 6 weeks according to Nordeus). Second, what did I step on that broke my foot while doing CARDIO? LEGO? the TV clicker? a BOMB? seriously.

I wont even mention the Broken leg while doing HARD CARDIO....17 days! uh, ok, so I did mention it...sue me.

another broken foot doing Cardio, normal, and that was 8 days.

oh yea, get this. Hard Stretching = Broken Foot = 8 days.

Sure, I get the ones with stretching = back pain = 2 days or normal cardio = ankle strain = 2 days
or even hard cardio = knee cartilage tear = 5 days. ok, I can accept that as it makes logical sense.

But is it so hard to reclassify or reorganize their programming to reflect the reality in injuries and what causes them?

Stretching is NEVER going to break your foot. Well, almost never. I might stretch my leg and someone drops a piano on my foot. That I can understand, but they dont say that.

Cardio should NEVER break my leg...unless I have serious bone calcium issues and then the team doctor would normally limit my cardio (and my career to playing football on FIFA 2015)

Nordeus advertises for people to help translate T11, but do they ask for help with making injury explanations more realistic?

Ultimately, as you know, they're just chances and severity - with labels attached, but I agree 100% that I too would prefer more realistic labels.

Once you have your data you could make a list of them and add what you think are more realistic injuries for their table or ask for imput.

Then you/we could throw it at the devs......and........wait. >.<

Right now I'm fairly convinced that the injury system is pretty simple, there's a probability of injury (which varies by stamina, activity etc), and then once an injury occurs they draw the type/severity out of a pot. The activity has no bearing on the injury at all. I've been keeping injury stats for my team for most of the last year, and pretty much every activity type averages 4 days out per injury.

I am simply amazed at all the info. I would never have that much info, because I dont really put that much into this **** game, simply because they, Nordeus, do not put that much into this **** game. What I am saying is it is not worth that effort.

Dont get me wrong Pete, good stats for many months, and what I was trying to do, you have done in spades. But what exactly, now that you have done that, can you get from those stats other than:

    - more injuries happen in the last 3rd of the season
    - the ST, MC, DC/DMC happen to get injured more than any other position (to be expected though)

Really, thats all I get that is useful.

What is missing is your success at the end of the seasons. If you came in 1st, are there more injuries next season? If you tanked, did you have more/less injuries? When using healing packs, did any get re-injured immediately? You dont mention, how many CL/CUP/League/Friendly games you have played in total to get a better idea of frequency.

The last one is most important, because you cant really compare with others if you dont say you are playing twice as many games as others. For example, I tank every second season, so I dont play as many CL games. I dont play many, if any, friendlies. I get kicked out of the cup early, more often than not.

and finally. you use too many red packs! That itself is the main reason why I think you have more injuries than I would expect based on my personal numbers.

I would have added some commentary, but frankly the Cricket was far more important (c'mon New Zealand!)

I'm a statistician by profession, 5-10 minutes a day maintaining the spreadsheet is nothing really.

Number of matches played (and #s of trainings) is in the first table, 3rd to last column. Right next to that is the probability of an injury in a match/training - 27% chance of an injury in a league match for instance (so roughly 1 injury every 4 matches).

As far as red packs go, I currently have nearly 300 in the bank, and generally farm as many as I use in a season by watching videos on ipad & iphone. I don't know how much longer I'm going to be interested enough to keep going with the game, so I may as well use them.

Your re-injury point is an interesting one, I'll take a look at that later. It's not something that's happened often enough for me consider looking at.

I've never tanked - in fact I've never not qualified for the CL. I win roughly 1 league in every 3 seasons (I managed a healthy amount of farming of tokens in the past, so work to a 2-scouts a year budget). My cup record's not so good admittedly, but when you're playing 2 or 3 levels up. Otherwise, seasons where I've had a few Nordgens in my squad and invested green packs in power-training have tended to be the seasons where I've had higher injury rates.

I run a 21-man squad (up until this season it was 22, but I've dropped a GK to make signing & selling academy players easier), and I generally give all players 1 match a day, with friendlies filling gaps on 1-match days. I prioritise the Cup/CL meaning that my reserves carry the load in the league early in the season.

The other main stat I didn't post overnight was the summary of injuries by position - basically midfielders are twice as likely to be injured as defenders, with strikers fitting in somewhere in the middle, and GKs being least likely to get hurt.
