Free kick taker questin

Hey folks, another question for you.
I've currently got a dc who is a free kick specialist but he's the lowest star member of my team. (Average is 31 stars and he's 27) but the reason he's in my team is he's the only one I have with a special talent. My question is. Is he worth it? I'm not sure how they work out free kicks but because he's a dc his shooting and finishing are only 23 and 24 respectively where as I have sts who have 36 and 37. Should I swap him out? Or will he still be better than some one with much better finishing because hes a specialist?

The only person that can have a reasonable opinion about that is you, because the stars and the Special Ability doesn't matter, just matter what you see in the matches.
You can have a 2* player that is more active than some 6* players and you can have 5 players with SA of Corners, and is posible that of these 5 with Special Ability no one is good and you have to select a DC with no SA or with another SA....

So, as I always say, prove, then decide. The important is what you see with your own eyes when a player is playing, not what you see in the Quality or Special Abilities.

The best free kick and corner kick takers are those with a consistent excellent form (8~9) which are hard to come by and requires special care to maintain the form indefinately...

Regardless of skill and SA, a higher form player have better chance of succeeding.

Ability stat and stars does matter, but they are out of the question if your player is performing badly.

I agree with Khris that you need to test yourself. Even you make a decision after observing, you are likely still unsure.

In general, I prefer using players with far better attacking attributes. But I will give a free kick specialist defender a try. At present, one of my teams assigned a specialist defender as primary free kicker. His average attacking rating is now approximately 3 or 4 lower than the top ones.

Quality is better than a special ability. you should use your ST and not your DC. like say, a 3 star is better at free kicks than a 2 star free kick specialist. do you get it.

not entirely true.

the freekick SA is supposed to increase your ability by one star. so you have a 5* MC with freekick, and when he takes a freekick he will be in the same stat range as a 6*.

There is an Level 15 MR 5* 92Q with FK and he has 95/93 shooting/finish. Will he be better than my Level 16 AMR/MR 5* 97Q with no FK and 97/99 shooting/finish? Based on the nordeus explanation, the 92Q MR should be better statistically taking freekicks because theoretically, he should have a higher shooting/finish when the SA bonus is added to his current numbers. As I am not entirely sure which ability the FK uses, either shooting or finish, I include both. It is a bit hard to determine what a freekick would be, but I would tend to lean towards shooting, but if you see players "finish" it could also be defined that way. Tough call and no explanation from Nordeus of course.

So if you have a 2* FK specialist, and a 5* ST or MC or any 5* for that matter, I would put the 5* player taking FK as the 2* with the bonus would only be equivalent to a 3* player.

and based on what I have said already, nickspeed4, a 3* is not necessarily better at FK than a 2* FK specialist. They would be more or less the same, and I would prefer the 2* with the FK just for the mental effect because they are specialists.

thanks for the above sully, makes sense. my st has just gone up to 6* now and my dc with FK speciality is 4* so im moving the duties over and selling the DC
