player retiring next season

as above. i bought a player as he was 6* and no one had bid on him and he was cheap but hes 33.
ive given him a 3 year contract but on the contract screen the renew button is blacked out and says "player retiring next season"

does this mean i have him for the rest of this season and next? or will he just be with me until the end of this season?

also if the answer is that he will be with me next season, will i be able to sell him in the middle of next season even though hes meant to retire then?

As it says 'retiring next season', I'm sure you have him next season as well (think it shows as 'player retiring this season' if they are retiring at the end of the current season).

I belive he is gone after day 28, and not in next season
