What a silly question... you got a red card in 35 minute and 2 injured players. your enemy is nearly as strong as your team, maybe also your lineup and tactics where wrong. So there is nothing strange about the loss.
Because sh...t happens and not only in t11 but in real football too.
Unfortunately I have more bad news for you.
This is (maybe) the toughest defending formation I 've met in my matches so I wouldn't bet for you in the 2nd leg.
Sorry

The game have a lot of bad results but this is not a bad one at all. You played most of the game in 10, plus an injured player and also there was not such a huge difference between teams quality.
Hi , out of interest how would you counter the above formation?
I would definitely go with a wide formation that includes a ML, MR, then AML and AMR, plus a striker. The guy needs width. His formation is narrow against a team that has two layers of three men in the middle.

The simplest counter against DML DMR flanks is using regular ML MR.
One of the toughest counter against it is 3W-2N-2W-2N-1 big diamond with no MC in the middle.
Anyway, it could be defeated without specific counter, defending formation (with most players behind the centre line) is vulnerable against powerful DMCs and wingbacks.
