Desert Rats FC are having to concentrate on the League now, and had a 3-2 win away. Midfielder Attenborough (2) and striker Haddou scoring the Rats goals in the first 36 minutes, but the home side pulled one back within a minute of the third and then gradually came back into the game. Despite conceding a second goal in the second-half, the defence held on for the win. Desert Rats are now 4th in their table after Round 6.

another day of consecutive 2:1 victories, reserves played admirably in CL throwaway game, onto the 3rd match in 9 hours soon vs team I'm tied for first with. He lost his last two games in cup and CL so hopefully his squad is fatigued, low morale and not rest boosted.
EDIT: Opposing manager was present,he had kept same ND formation, changed his squad around. It was a hard fought game, my keeper made 4 huge saves early until i found the adjustments that worked. He scrapped a late goal but luckily Nik came through with the game winner!

Won my champions league group today. My reward, potential matchups with token buyers in the quarterfinals and semi-finals.
As for the match, I played 4-4-2 classic against his 4-1-2-1-2 ND. All my players were in the yellow for condition, and 3 starters were in the red for morale; win bonus was on max (OOPS). Backups were in, including my 42Q and 46Q stooges. 74 and under is 1*
Orders were attacking, through the middle, own half, hard, long, zonal, force counters, no offsides. Red arrows on DL, DR, ML and MR. Blue arrows on MC's. Had two players playing out of possession for the entire 2nd half, yet managed a 4-3 (3-3 in 2nd half) victory and dominated possession. I'm guessing my opponent had the same idea, finish 2nd and don't have to worry about any token buyers before the final?
I don't like the unbalanced performance of my level 17 team yesterday. The attacking players well played while the defending players didn't. I want to build consistency of players. This match hurted me.
I believe that my opponent was successful even if he could not win. Adoption of heavily attacking biased formation should aim at high scoring matches like this.

Brief review on this level 17 Team
Comparing with previous 2 or 3 seasons, the league of this season is tough. There are 8 teams clearly stronger than my team. In general, their starters are 3Q or 4Q higher than mine. Many of them did not promote in last season, but they are looked well-managed and are not tanking team in last season. I satisfy with current mid table position because my team has yet not lost a match it ought not to be. My team is slowly developing and trying to catch of the quality difference to the top teams. I still wish it can break into top 4 or even higher at the end of season. But it is not easy.
For Cup, with leading of 5 away goals, my team is expected to advance to top 16.

I just experienced the same thing last night in my champions league game. In my away game I trashed this team (had 33 shots with 15 on target but didn't attend). Last night was my home match and I attended. Again my misconception was that this would be a walkover. I got behind 0-1. Made it 1-1. 1-2 Sigh. 2-2 Yippie. 2-3 what? 3-3 Phew. A tie in the end.
My whole defensive line scored a 5,4 (GK and defense). This line has been my backbone for like the last 2 seasons and has an average score of around 7,5. My whole attacking line scored over 8,2. Never seen such a gap in defense and attacking. And never seen a drop in form like this for my defense. Could this somehow be related to the win bonus of the other team? Or the fact that his team was using with a fantasy setup?

In my observation, for similar match result, generally match ratings of players increased after introducing match rating 10. But the increase for midfielders seem more prominent comparing with players in other positions. At present, average ratings of all my MC in this team are above 7.0 while 4 out of 8 of my defenders' average ratings are below 7.0, 2 are 7.0, 2 are above 7.0. In the past, as I remember, the match ratings of defenders are higher than midfielders.Quote:

Lost 3-2 away in the league. Now sitting in 3rd with a game in hand. Missed most of the match, came in around 70min played, AML got 2nd yellow. Managed to get 2 goals back, but ofc too late!!
There's another high scoring league match (2:2) though there's less scores comparing with last league match (4:4). Glad that my players' performances are balanced in this match. I don't think performance of players fully reflect in match rating sheet. The opponent is the league leader and quality is much higher. Without the excellent performance of their goalkeeper, my team should have a easy victory.

BTW, I am always lazy to share interesting individual match performance. Now I just shared performance of my level 17 team for 2 matches in a row.
In fact, generally the matches of my level 25 team is more interesting. Most of the matches are tough competitions and every day I need to handle 2 matches separating by about 3 hours. It just advanced to top 16 in Cup after a turn around to overcome 2 goals behind to win by 3:2, against a 2-level below but similar quality team. The CL is even more tough. I am happy that my team is still leading 3 one-level-higher teams.

Well i got a draw in round 6 in League and yet another lost in round 7.. Looks like i will delete the "table of counter formations" from my bookmarks... SINCE WHEN did 4-3N-3 started losing 4:0 to a 451V-Style?! months ago i used to dominate 451v with 4-3N-3 and now what.. screw this im gonna use my own formation for all matches from now on.
As for the CL we are doing great job there somehow,we won the 4th round 2:1 and are 1st in the group so far..
