What have you learned from last season?
Older players need their rest.
Injuries suck.
Fans are fickle.
Where did you place last season?
1st in the league, no champions league (level 1), lost in qualifying stage of cup.
What's your current level?
2
What's your budget for this season?
17.5m or so. I've spent 12.5m so far, and I have a balance of just under 5m.
Who do you want to replace?
I still have six low-20's players, some of whom have a really good value to skills ratio. I still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do.
What are your goals for this season?
Triple Crown. I can't settle for anything less. I am currently in first in my league by 5 points, and I have the highest team quality in both the champions league and the cup.
My overall record is 23-2-1 this season. 79 goals for, 19 against.

A convincing win in the Champions League Round of 16 today, 3:0 at home against a quality opponent.
I set my best performing XI up with the usual "normal, short passing, mixed passing focus, low pressing" and they delivered a 2:0 lead by the 35th minute. I then switched to "defensive", with a conservative playing style to protect the clean sheet. Franken scored the third goal and I took him out to send Mittag in as a second DMC.
Perfect result for a first leg.

The league match was more difficult than the CL today. The boys conceded two goals, an unusual sight so far this season. The team even went down 1:2 at the half.
I switched the mentality from "normal" to "attacking", sent captain Sarovic in and my team took control of the game, to score three goals and leave opponents in the dust.
I think this game makes a case for coaching as a difference maker when you are losing.
I can't help but wonder what is going on with Petermann, though. He is suspiciously quiet since Franken join. A fight in the team?![]()
Drew c/l game 3-3 did not watch was 2-1 up and 3-2 down and got late equalizer so will take 3 away goals![]()

Palace teams report, Sunday...
Palace Casuals had a home Champions League 1st Leg match against the leaders of their League. Liam Cashman opened the scoring, but the match as far as Casuals was concerned ended there. Right-back Fetisov started the rot when he fouled an opposition player on the edge of the area and 'keeper Johnston was given no chance from the resulting spot kick. The visitors then scored three more in the second half to defeat Casuals 1-4 and number the days of their existence in the CL. The later League match away at the second-placed team in the League looked like giving Casuals the same sort of result, but Shaqiri and Cashman put two goals on the board in three first-half minutes and with the rest of the team playing like demons it looked like an upset was in order. The hosts pulled one back midway through the second-half but Casuals hung on for a table-upsetting 2-1 win. This evening, one of the Palace Casuals strikers was sought after, but the derisory offer is still on the table...
Desert Rats FC were away in the League and cruised to a 4-0 win, with goals from Ivory, Abdul Karim (2) and Matias.
Palace Terriers had another goal-spree day, the away 1st Leg of their Champions League match being surprisingly easy, van der Plas scoring a hat-trick, but being beaten to MoM by Krajca with 2 goals and 2 assists. Record and substitute striker Hall (2) were the other scorers in the 8-0 win. The evening League match at home against the basement team in the League was a puzzling match of two halves. The first-half was a frustrating stalemate where nothing would go right for the home side, they suffered two more injuries, and the visitors threatened a Troll result. After the break, however, the world turned right way up again, and Atkins put in a strikers' shift with a hat-trick, but was pipped to MoM by Kadlec (1 goal and 1 assist), final score 4-0. Silly commentary time again:
Injury stats at the half-way point in the season:
Palace Casuals - 5 injuries, 32 days
Palace Terriers - 6 injuries, 24 days
Desert Rats FC - 5 injuries, 17 days
