July Fourth 3-0 Coloz United Champions League Quarter-Finals 1st Leg
    July Fourth 104.2 3N-1-3-1-2 - Coloz United 95.8 4-3N-1-2

A nervy affair but also an excellent performance from July Fourth who outclassed Coloz United in the 1st leg of this tie by winning 3-0 and also preventing the away goal. In fact Coloz United are relatively louck that its only 3-0. It was a perfect start for July Fourth with Michu beating his marker and passing it low on the ground for Papaleo to give us the lead, it was quickly 2-0 when Miku fired one in for 25 meters, Coloz United started to play the foul game by fouling our team as far as away from the goal as possible and Vasko who was on free-kick duty for most of the night couldn't get anything on target, Miku should of made it 3-0 just before half-time but the shot was blocked by Festas, In the second half our attacks kept getting cut out by some fine tackling by Sosa barely keeping Coloz in the tie, but on 58 minutes a wild shot from long range from L.McNamara found the roof of the net to give us a 3-0 lead, then Miku gave away the free kick but Tronche stuck it over the bar. The rest of the game was cagey with both teams having a couple of attacks each that broke down and then they fouled again in the 83rd minute but this time Mensah was on the field and he got the free kick on target but Antunez saved it, there was a late Coloz attack in search of the away goal with Roberts running with the ball but Ramirez made a slide tackle in our penalty area but won the ball cleanly and Novotny cleared it.

    Goals: Papaleo (5), Miku (13), L.McNamara (58) MOTM: Miku.

Once we get the away goal in Italy we can relax and start concerntrating on our next tough opponents which will most likely Ttrabzonspor. Kadir with GALATASARAY won their game 3-1 tonight earlier.

    Time for some friendlies.

It was more of a case that Coloz United didn't show up for this match because I don't think it was our best here, If we were on form this could of easily been 6-0 or something like that. but baring a unlikely fightback or scare in Italy for the second leg then this tie is as good as over, we just need the away goal to kill it off. I substituted Miku on 75 minutes for Crawford who did nothing as usual, but we have no real idea who exactly is performing well in the game or not.

CL: (insert arabic name here 0-5 TuaMa
These quarter finals are much easiar then the last stage.. At least for TuaMa. We started out great with Freeman getting his free kick saved and Cubero missing a header all in the 2nd minute. Our pressing was working great and in the 12' minute Boccucci scored with an amazing out of the box shot from 30 meters to put us in the lead. Pauletic was looking lively playing for one of his few times this season subbing an injured Legrand and after serving the assist for Boccucci's goal he landed one himself on the 20th minute. The opposition still didn't look dangerous at all and at the 36th minute Corrales found a hole in their defence to make it 3-0. After the break the arabic team were looking lively and Nagy shot twice almost pulling one back for the hosts before Belisha made it 4-0. The game calmed down untill Tinwassana got his 2nd yellow leaving the hosts in 10 men and Freeman made it 5 from the consequential free kick. It was a great game and we already have one foot in the semis.
    Goals: Boccucci 12' Pauletic 20' Corrales 36' Belisha 49' Freeman 73'
    MOTM: Corrales

League: Massa FC 1- 2 TuaMa
One hour after the Champion's league victory we travelled to Italy to face a Bot. We thought it was going to be an easy game but we were proved wrong when at the first minute we went 1-0 down when Aranburu tapped it in. We started pressing and Belisha missed two great chances before Boccucci made it level with a great shot that sped past the keeper. The game was terrifyingly level and during the break our coach gave a big talk to our players and made three changes. We came out of the dressing room looking bright but it wasn't until the 69th minute that we took the lead with Pauletic. Massa FC didn't look like they were going to fight back and we managed to scrape a 2-1 win to keep our 17-0-0 record.
    Goals: Aranburu 1' Boccucci 23' Pauletic 69'
    MOTM: Boccucci

Pride, more than anything else, was at stake tonight. The lads had two away matches, back-to-back and the whole squad was required to do their utmost. The first match saw us playing away in a league match in the north of England.

Result: SHAGHER DONESK 0-4 LONDON CITY
    Goals: Duran 6, Lanwer 33, Bentley 50, King 64
    M.o.M: Teddy King

Two goals in each half, against a struggling team, saw us back on track, after a winless couple of days. Lukas Duran got us off to a dream start, heading in from a Teddy King free-kick. Bjorn Lanwer added a second just after the half hour mark. After the break, Marcus Bentley and King himself, doubled our lead, to help with our goal difference, and give us a moral boosting win. But our two league rivals also won their respective matches.

It was then a mad dash to Indonesia, for our CL match, which kicked off 15 minutes later. Only three players kept their places in the team from the earlier game.

Result: TA UNITED 1996 0-1 LONDON CITY
    Goals: King 32
    M.o.M: Teddy King

A magnificent team performance gave us an unexpected win against our much stronger opponents. For the most part, it was a "backs to the wall" game, but the lads responded magnificently. We only managed 3 shots all game, but from one of them, Teddy King managed to place his header past the bemused goalie, from a Paul Edmonds corner. We are hoping for some more luck in the second leg at our place in the return. Special praise must go to our young, reserve striker, Teddy King, who volunteered to play in both games and ending with two goals, and two man of the match awards.
