My thoughts on the recent update

    Hi everyone

So, I've been playing this game for a couple of years now and I've seen the game go through a few changes. These past months Top Eleven has tried to revamp its game quite a lot as much on the esthetic side than the strategic one. So I thought I'd give my two cents on the last changes.

    Pros:
    - The new training system: I like what TE did there. Being able to focus which kind of training you wish to give to your players and which part of the pitch trains what. It makes the game feel a bit more strategic. You can decide to give more attacking points to your foward players and try to focus on passing and possession for your midfielders. With the level system that makes you unlock more training slots and modes, it gives a bit more lifetime to the game. The reports are a smart addition as you can try to copy/paste a successful training and maybe add a few more to improve it.

    - Key attributes: So this answers a lot of question that players had on their team (which one of my strikers is the best, who should I put for corners depending on their crossing, which midfielder has better passing...). It adds to the strategic part of the game since now we do not have to guess what player is better for which role anymore.

-Real goalkeeper attributes: FINALLY. Gone is the time where we were balancing our skill points between defence and physical for our GK, trying to predict which ones were best for his performance on the pitch. The GK now has true attributes and it's now way clearer how his skills are shared between all of them.

-Updating the browser version: About time they did this. It felt like I was almost playing two different games and that it was better to play on a smaller screen with the app rather than comfortably on my computer.

-Rest percentage increase: It's only a 1% increase but on long periods of recovery it actually has an impact, it's always a positive to have rested 24% instead of 20%

    Cons:

-The percentages: So I didn't really get what was the reason of introducing percentages. It's kind of blurry what they actually mean and how it compares against my other players, my opponent's players or even my level within my league. Not sure it adds something in the end. Maybe TE will come with more explanations or clarifications. (one can hope...)

-The new browser version: TE updated the browser version *yay* but it's just the tablet version *boooo*. So the browser version doesn't look like it was optimised for it. You can clearly feel that it was made for a more tactile version and that TE didn't look more into it and just decided to put the tablet format. It's disappointing but I guess it's better than nothing...

    -The sponsor money:
So this was an issue for quite some time that, the more you progress into the game, the less sponsor money becomes sustainable to pay your team's salaries. I have a team composed of 4/5 star players and only have up to two players in reserve and sometimes league+sponsor money is barely enough to pay daily wages. For players out of the cup and/or CL it becomes really difficuly to pay wages as the season progesses but it also hinders future players purchases as the money you're trying to save starts to deplete.

So that's what I had to say on the changes. If you have any comments to make or would like to discuss some points, please do, I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about this.

    Have fun!

The new training is actually a really good feature and one I think would bring good depth to the game, assuming they could fix the buggy as hell game engine so that the troll results were not as frequent and actually training players was wise.

What is frustrating is that in implementing a really good feature in the training they have then messed about with the whole lay out, changed from cones to % and basically "fixed" lots of things that weren't broken and what people were happy about, with the new fixes actually being WORSE than before.

It's also very frustrating that even though they were telling us all of this update two weeks ago they decided to wait until 5 days into this season to implement it, rather than on Sunday when it would have been a new season and something that everyone went into fresh.

I am personally feeling very unhappy about the fact that I spent ALL DAY on Sunday, using around 5000 Green packs to power train my team using the old method, to then find there is a new system now in place that requires daily training input for bonuses and to level up. Had these changes been made for the start of the season, which would have been more logical, all the power training I did on Day One would have been rewarded with the level ups and bonuses.

In the end, Im in a worse position for trying to be proactive and sort my team out on Day One to have a competitive team. A complete balls up by Nordeus really and one that looks like a massive smack of disrespect to the games long serving players.

haha, tried the new training system and what not. had my guys all trained up before match. even used the bonus morale boosters to jack up some 0 morale guys morale to max. Was favorite to the game about 92 to 104%. Result - 6:0 defeat, one red card to the maxed out morale MC.

it's still a joke. unless they improve the game algorithm, they can do as many UI shifts, it's the game mechanics that don't count a sh*t what you do that kills the game.

I have just been wondering about the timing of these updates. They were brought in on day 5, but we were warned only about the adding of skill points for a few days prior to this. Meaning they must have known many players would be affected before the start of the new season.

Now, in my case, I sat around waiting for the new league set-up to be shown, into the early hours of day 3. At that point, I went to the shop and bought a pack of tokens, so that I could replace some of my older players. With the new update implemented less than 48 hours later, with the consequence that I won't be able to play in a short while, surely they must have known this when they accepted my money, in which case they should have given me a warning that buying the tokens could become pointless and a waste. The fact that the took the money without any notification, could this be classed as fraud?

Fortunately, I did a screen shot of the transaction, so I may look into the legality of it.

well... the training system force you to do two training before each match.... that is a joke.... for those still in CUP... there are some day have 3 matches a day... (and even sometime only have CL and league...also has 3 match a day) , and some time, the match is only about 3-4 hrs away.... what the hack need to do training right after a match for a better preparation for the match 3 hrs later??

I agree that the in game algorithms for matches are a total screw up. But that would mean TE would have to actually to spend time on this problem to create a viable strategic game and we know that's not coming anytime soon. So they're distracting us with nice UI and changes here and there. While some of the steps they make are in the right direction, they still miss some of the crucial in game problems that haven't been addressed in years.

I just saw about the 2 trainings before a match aspect. It's a bit crazy and I feel like it's Nordeus' way to force full team recovery, i.e. more green packs spent, i.e. having to now buy green packs to sustain each match.

It's a shame that Nordeus doesn't do more to fix some of the biggest issues that are in the game. I'm pretty sure that they're making a lot of money already seeing their recent marketing campaigns and team sponsorship. If they were more focused on their players, they'd have a much better return imo.

Hey El, long time to see you.

but does it work or it 'll be like the corners specialist ability.

Hey dude! Nice to see you're still roaming in the forums.
Yeah, it will be a test, I have to be more present on my matches to see the impact, I've missed most of them lately :/

Effectively PC new version is a different game running with same set of teams and players to me. I may be able to make a long list of areas I love and hate. But two reasons made me hard to continue to play. First, it requires too many computer resources. Second, it takes me more time to manage because of the poor screen design which always need scrolling or more clicks to compete simple tasks, and the more complicate training system.

You have a team of 7,8, and 9 star players. Stop crying, maybe you're just not a good manager without being 20% better than everyone else. Maybe you aren't a good manager when your team IS 20% better than everyone else. #packfarmerproblems My guess is that you priortitize Q rating over form and train individually instead of together so your team is a bunch of athletic superstars that have no clue how to play as a team. Possible?
