Someone did mention the playmaker special ability showing. I saw it on a post somewhere on this forum itself.

i saw that too...but the funny thing is....it won't count him has the assist (showing the ion...but not assist)

It does not necessarily need to be an assist. Any creative pass should count. This includes: defence splitting passes, assists, and a pass to someone that has space or in a better position relative to others (vision).

I am keeping my eyes very open from now on, my playmaker needs to glow. the icon would be fun to see.

Playmaker had shown once, never had a dribbler tho. Shadow striker does show up.
