I quite see myself maybe. It happened to me too, sometimes I over bid for a player just not to lose him and after that I was forced to sell him because I used to many cash. This might happened with him. It's a possibility but maybe not this happened.

What I think is that you didn't saw him because he already had over 22 player signed and you can't see unassigned players.
